In short: browsing this website sets no cookies at all. Cookies appear only once you do something that needs one — put an item in your cart, or ask us to remember your details on a product review. We use no analytics cookies and no advertising cookies, because we use no analytics or advertising.
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on ohmypillowcase.com, operated by Serkan Yıldız, sole proprietor, Istanbul, Türkiye.
1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep, so that something can be remembered between one page and the next. Related technologies do a similar job: local storage and session storage keep small pieces of data in your browser rather than sending them back to the server with every request. This policy covers all of them.
2. What this website sets, and when
We checked this the only way worth checking it: by loading the site in a clean browser with no history, not logged in, and looking at what appeared.
The result was the same on every page — the home page, About, Contact, the FAQ, the blog, an article, and each of our policy pages: zero cookies before any interaction, and nothing loaded from any other company’s servers.
The payment step is the one exception. The payment screen is served by our payment provider, iyzico, and loads iyzico’s own scripts, which may set cookies of their own. That happens only after you choose to pay — never while you are browsing — and it is outside the measurement described above. Our Privacy Policy explains what iyzico receives.
Two storage entries are created as soon as a page loads. Both belong to the shop software, both stay empty until you add something to your cart, and neither is a cookie — they are held in your browser rather than sent to us. They exist so the cart indicator in the header can be drawn without asking the server on every page.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Category | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
wc_cart_hash_* |
This website (WooCommerce) | Records whether your cart has changed, so the cart shown in the header stays correct. Empty until you add an item. | Strictly necessary | Local storage — kept until cleared |
wc_fragments_* |
This website (WooCommerce) | Caches the small piece of HTML that draws your cart, so pages load faster. | Strictly necessary | Session storage — cleared when you close the tab |
3. Cookies that appear only after you act
These are set in response to something you did. None of them is set in advance, and none is used for analytics or advertising.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Category | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
woocommerce_items_in_cart |
This website (first party) | Records that your cart is not empty. Set when you add an item. | Strictly necessary | Until you close your browser |
woocommerce_cart_hash |
This website (first party) | Identifies the current contents of your cart so the totals shown stay correct. | Strictly necessary | Until you close your browser |
wp_woocommerce_session_* |
This website (first party) | Links your browser to your cart and checkout session on our server. Without it a cart cannot survive from one page to the next. It cannot be read by scripts in your browser. | Strictly necessary | 48 hours |
comment_author_*, comment_author_email_*, comment_author_url_* |
This website (first party) | Remembers the name, email address, and website you entered on a product review, so you need not retype them. Set only if you tick the box offering this. The box is never ticked for you. | Functional — set only with your agreement | Approximately 347 days |
wordpress_logged_in_*, wordpress_sec_*, wp-settings-* |
This website (first party) | Keeps a signed-in user signed in and remembers their screen preferences. Set only for people who administer the website — there are no customer accounts on this site, so these are never set for a shopper. | Strictly necessary for a signed-in session | Between the end of the session and around one year, depending on whether the person chose to stay signed in |
4. Third-party cookies
There are none. Every cookie and storage entry above is set by this website itself. No other company sets anything through our pages.
This is a consequence of how the site is built. Our pages load no fonts, scripts, images, videos, maps, social widgets, or embeds from anyone else’s servers. The typeface used across the site is served from our own server rather than from a font provider. Because of this, visiting a page here does not reveal your visit, your IP address, or your browser details to any other company.
Links to our social media profiles are ordinary links. Nothing loads from those platforms unless you click through to them.
5. What we do not use
- No analytics. There is no Google Analytics, no tag manager, and no alternative analytics product on this website.
- No advertising or tracking. There are no advertising pixels, conversion tags, remarketing tags, or cross-site trackers.
- No profiling. We do not build a profile of you, and we do not follow you to other websites.
- No marketing attribution. The shop software can record where a visitor arrived from; that feature is switched off, and the cookies it would set do not appear.
- No session recording or heatmaps.
- No third-party CAPTCHA. Our contact form’s spam check runs on our own server.
6. Why there is no cookie banner
Because nothing is placed on your device except what a feature you asked for genuinely requires, there is nothing for a banner to ask permission about. Putting one up anyway — a box that says “Accept” over choices that do not exist — would suggest we are doing something we are not, and would train you to click through a consent notice that means nothing.
There is no cookie preferences panel on this site for the same reason: there are no optional technologies to switch on or off. If that changes, a real one will appear before it does.
7. Managing cookies yourself
You can delete cookies and block them in your browser’s settings, and you can browse in a private window so that everything is discarded when you close it.
Because every cookie we set is one the shop needs to work, blocking them all will stop the cart and checkout from functioning: your cart will empty as you move between pages. Reading the site will still work normally.
8. Changes to our use of cookies
This policy describes what is actually running today. We may introduce additional technologies later — analytics, advertising, or payment-related services that set their own cookies — and this page will change when we do.
Before any such technology is switched on, we will:
- put a real consent tool in place where one is required, with separate choices for necessary, preference, analytics, and marketing purposes;
- make sure those technologies are genuinely blocked until you have chosen, rather than merely recording your answer after the fact;
- update this Cookie Policy and our Privacy Policy to describe exactly what is being set, by whom, and for how long.
The date at the top will change at the same time. We will not begin tracking first and document it afterwards.
